About us
Dessa Consult is a Brazilian private enterprise owned by Dutch engineers (M.Sc. Agricultural University of Wageningen, The Netherlands), founded in October 1998.
Its main objective in the combined practice of Research & Development and Consultancy is to come to new insights and make these applicable in the field of agriculture, obtaining healthy and optimally productive crops.
We have made major discoveries in plant physiology that profoundly changed our way of looking at crops, crop productivity and crop interaction with potential pathogens. They also changed our perspective of good crop management; our way of understanding how to supportively interfere in crop production.
We offer our knowledge and experience to our customers in order to realize sustainable production with productivity up to potential and high return on investment. This includes substitution of agrochemicals with strategical management measures.
We want to break the status quo in agriculture that treats crops as passive elements. It is our experience that crops are extremely capable of producing and defending themselves given our interferences are adequate and do not make them decide otherwise.
We advocate sustainable agriculture; agriculture that recognizes crop productivity, crop health and crop quality as inseperable. Healthy crops are productive and stay disease free.
We advocate healthy crops to be our aim as good produce, including good food.
We advocate good crop nutrition as nutrition that does not limit itself to what the crop needs but also what we, the consumers, need.
We offer know-how adapted to local conditions through research projects. Technology Transfer is another tool we offer agricultural and horti floricultural companies and agricultural suppliers and industries (sugarcane and food). Through analyses, diagnostics, research, orientations and accompanying production, we try to help our clients to reach a new level of understanding and application of the newest insights, offering specific and often innovative solutions when and where necessary. Hardware and software are developed whenever deemed necessary.
